I was working at home on my PC when

Sir,

Today Saturday 12-04-08 I was working at home on my PC when at 1355hrs I tried to close down I was informed that you (Virgin) were upgrading my PC guard system that I pay for and I would be unable to shut down until this was done. At 1743hrs I rang your helpline number (joke) explaining that I was still unable to close down my system. I retain personal information about others and had to go out to work, for this reason I was unable to leave the system turned on I was promptly told to unplug my PC. As you may know incorrect close down procedures can lead to a crashing of the system. For the above reasons I was unable to hang up and wait for a return call  and was insistent on speaking to a supervisor. When he eventually did come on the line I was unable to make myself understood and he cut me off at 1803hrs.

I was told at the start of my call would be charged at 25p a minute, to put it politely I am discussed at the way I was treated at the hands of your staff and would feel even more aggrieved if I was to be charged for the call.

My wife received a call from someone who she was unable to understand and was told they would ring back tomorrow.

I eagerly wait your written response.

David Gent
